ABOUT THE ARTIST

Welcome to my website! I have always found typical artist bio's a bit uptight, so the writing is from my perspective, just as I do the painting. I hope through it, you are able to gain a better understanding of my art and the way I see the world.

I am a visual artist and designer based in the Treaty 1 Territory of Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a "student of experience", I am constantly evolving as an artist, using the natural world to shape my art. My work focuses on familiar landscapes, the nuances of human expression, and the idea that you can convey emotion, sense of place, and atmosphere with just a few brush strokes - letting negative space tell just as much of a story as the space that is filled. I often use carefully selected reclaimed picture frames with my art to lend to the story my pieces tell, as well as being a sustainable way to display my current pieces. I want my work to be seen as social art that is both accessible and intriguing.
